OnePlus 7T and OnePlus TV go on sale in India

nePlus launched the OnePlus 7T, OnePlus TV Q1 and OnePlus TV Q1 Pro earlier this week in India. Today for the first time all the three products from OnePlus are available for purchase in the country. Both the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus TV series are available on Amazon.in. The products are available only for Amazon Prime users today. The OnePlus 7T, OnePlus TV Q1 and OnePlus TV Q1 Pro will be available for all users tomorrow, September 29. In addition, the OnePlus 7T is also available across all OnePlus Exclusive Stores in India.

This is for the first time that OnePlus launched a smart Android TV. OnePlus launched two TVs in India earlier this week. The TVs are — OnePlus TV Q1 and OnePlus TV Q1 Pro. What’s the difference between the OnePlus TV Q1 and OnePlus TV Q1 Pro? The Pro version of the OnePlus TV comes with a sliding soundbar. The standard OnePlus TV doesn’t have the pop-up speaker. Both the OnePlus TV Q1 and OnePlus TV Q1 Pro come with 55-inch QLED screen.

Should you buy the OnePlus TV? We at India Today Tech have reviewed the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro and believe OnePlus has done a good job with its first-ever TV.

This is what we said in the review of the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro review:

“I feel the Q1 Pro is slightly overpriced for my taste. While the picture quality is great, and so is the sound, the wobbly design, and less than perfect image processing for content that is in HD or FullHD robs it of value. Having said that, if you are going to use your TV more as a smart device — say to stream high-quality videos, or will be connecting it with a media server where you have tons of quality 4K content, or thousands of songs in high quality, or if you are going to play a lot of video games on through a console, the kind of image and sound quality that this TV offers does make it worth its price. It all depends on how you intend to use the OnePlus Q1 Pro. As a regular TV it is too pricey. As a regular TV I believe that the OnePlus TV Q1, which has the same screen but paired with a regular 4-speaker sound system, is a much better option because of its price of Rs 69,900.”

The standard OnePlus TV Q1 comes at a price of Rs 69,900 while the price of the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro is set at Rs 99,900.

Coming to the OnePlus 7T now the smartphone comes with a starting price of Rs 37,999 in India. This price is for the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model of the 7T. The top-end model of the OnePlus 7T with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage comes at a price of Rs 39,999. Additionally, Amazon has also partnered with State Bank of India to offer 10 per cent instant discount to the buyers.

Should you buy the OnePlus 7T? This is what we said in the review of the smartphone:

“The display and cameras are undeniably the key reasons that make the OnePlus 7T special. Club the superfast Warp Charge 30T technology along with the faster Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and the buttery smooth Oxygen OS, and you have a phone that’s near-perfect. And even with that controversial circular camera hump, it still will turn heads wherever you go.

The improvements to the OnePlus 7T come in more as generational upgrades rather than mere updates. And this makes the OnePlus 7T extremely desirable even for those who got the OnePlus 7 a few months ago. The higher starting price of Rs 37,999 is something that consumers won’t like but the extra you invest over the regular OnePlus 7 is worth every penny.”
